Wray with Botton Parish Council has been working with Lancashire County Council (LCC) to install Speed Indicator Devices at key points in the village where numerous concerns have been raised by residents about the speed of traffic and a number of near misses for pedestrians and road users.
After months of research and following a public consultation, the Parish Council, with the guidance of LCC, has approved the purchase and installation of a solar powered SPID at these two locations in the village, along with a software package to monitor the data collected. We are writing to inform residents of this decision and to advise that the SPIDs will be ordered once the sites have received their final assessment by LCC engineers, at which point LCC will install the devices.
